Itinerary and more information for the Hinakos tour

Our surf camp is located on Asu island in the Hinako chain offshore of Sumatra.  We have a full service facility in Indonesia which provides accommodation, ground and sea transportation and all meals. Guests fly to Medan, the capital city of Sumatra and are greeted by our staff upon arrival at the airport. Accommodation in a 3 star hotel is included and at 8:00 Am the following morning we transport you through Sumatra viewing Lake Toba and breathtaking rain forests along the way to the harbor, for a boat ride to the Hinako islands.  We have a deep sea fishing boat and snorkeling is also available. The emphasis however, is surfing!

The island of Asu is very small and is home to a world class left hander.  We have set up accommodation for ten guests maximum.  This ensures a healthy balance on such a small island and more importantly, great surf without crowds! Just a short walk to a world class left and a short boat ride to a world class right!

A short 10 minute boat ride takes you to another world class spot called Bawa island.  Both of these islands were made famous by Tom Curren and the Rip Curl search videos. These breaks have been featured in many surf films since. We are proud to say that the quality and consistency of the break in the Hinakos compares favorably with any location on the global surfing circuit.
